Yurt Trip! A no birding week (sorta). No birding in Dane County, some light second-hand birding in the Bayfield, WI area. Mega Rarity - Fieldfare happened to be seen (February 14th) up north (Ashland, WI - Prentice Park) only about a 30 minute drive from where my trip was.

Yurt Trip begins! No birding, but heard a Barred Owl at night! It sounded like a scream to start and ended in it’s typical call. Never heard a Barred Owl like that before.

Hiking around the Ashwabay Trails. Ruffed Grouse on trail was cool. So many cool tracks in the snow - wolf, bobcat, rabbits, grouse, squirrels.

On the way home, a quick stop to see if we could get lucky with the Fieldfare. No luck. Doesn’t seem to have wanted to be spotted after 8:00 am for anyone.
